The Future of Strategy

The Future of Strategy is…

Innovative

Creative

Purposeful

Human-centered

Inspiring

Scrappier than you think

More profitable than before

It’s no surprise that customer needs have changed. We know that employee expectations have changed. Challenges are complex. Easy or standard solutions have limited potential for creating value. To win customers, your solution needs to be better or cheaper.  Both require innovation to be sustainable strategies for growth.

Your team has more innovative, creative potential than you might realize.  It just needs to be fueled and ignited.

Right now, there’s no better way to grow a company’s impact than with innovation. Business growth opportunities depend on creativity, innovation and implementation.  I believe in simple starting points. You need to create a spark.  A spark is resourcefulness. It releases potential. It is the start of something bigger.

Here’s how to start a creative spark:

  1. The right people

  2. The right inspiration

  3. The right context

  4. The right structure

Start small, so you can start now.

Get your small group together. Envision how much your customers will love the new thing you create for them. Do just enough planning to create momentum in the right direction.  Get help organizing the right experience to draw out creative energy.  Apply that energy to productive work solving a problem, generating ideas, shifting perspectives, and overcoming inertia.

How can you do this?

  1. Pick a handful of collaborative colleagues from across the organization. They need to be receptive to new ideas and new skills. They need to be curious, optimistic and knowledgeable of the customer.

  2. Identify a customer segment with growth potential because they are underserved, have new challenges, or are dissatisfied with mainstream solutions.

  3. Set aside 3-4 hours for a creative exercise to imagine new opportunities for your company.

What to expect from this small commitment:

  1. Generate new insights and ideas for growth opportunities

  2. Build trust and creative energy among team members

  3. Determine the right people for an innovation team

  4. Spark momentum that can grow with small steps forward

Now, we just need to shape the right exercise for your team.  Check out a few options here.
