Climate Leadership Debrief: Accelerating Sustainable Ecosystems

Climate Leadership Debrief: Accelerating Sustainable Ecosystems

This is a forum for thinkers and doers who have the audacity to believe we can do more, faster.
It’s a collaboration conversation for:

  • Change agents who are continually learning and raising the bar

  • Strategists navigating complex ecosystems

  • Climate innovators growing their peer network

  • People who listen to podcasts and want a forum to talk about what they’re learning

A Podcast Debrief - This is a discussion forum to unpack insights and opportunities by debriefing a recent podcast episode produced by industry thought leaders. The goal is to identify the next right action you can take to accelerate progress.

This inaugural session features a timely and profoundly insightful conversation with Katharine Hayhoe, a climate scientist and climate communications expert, who was interviewed by Joel Makower of Trellis and Solitaire Townsend of Futerra on their podcast “Two Steps Forward.”

Questions We’ll Discuss:

  • What is the biggest challenge in the climate movement right now?

  • What if we had empathy for leaders who aren't doing enough and better understood what prevents system change?

  • How might an effective "head, heart, and hands" strategy be framed?

  • What can you do, and who could help?

Episode We’re Debriefing: “Two Steps Forward” Katharine Hayhoe says our climate theory of change has always been broken. https://open.spotify.com/episode/0M2oMD97IA7hCe3eKdXPkH

Listen to the show and think about one or all of the questions above. The session consists of small group discussion. You’ll gain the most if you listen 1-2 days before the meeting.

The August 18 session is our first! Consider it a prototype, where you can help influence the design and focus of future sessions.

Session times listed are shown in Eastern Time.

About the Climate Leadership Debrief: Led by Market Innovation Strategist, Jen Reiner of Align Ltd (Climatebase Fellowship Cohort 9).

The ‘Debrief’ is a collaborative discussion where peers unpack insights and opportunities arising from a recent podcast episode (or episodes). Instead of creating more content, we’re curating, spreading and applying the big ideas from industry thought leaders in sustainability, climate entrepreneurship, climate finance, philanthropy, and more.

The goal is to identify action that accelerates systems change - particularly the market adoption of new sustainable products and services. Market transformation is slow and disruptive, with many forces working against it. We need to align interests to get progress moving faster.

This forum is about identifying opportunities to move the needle faster. It’s about figuring out what YOU can do to accelerate progress. Each session features a different podcast and/or episode.
