How to Rework Your Business

  • ONLINE United States (map)

There's a process for adapting your business.

Businesses need to adapt to both the temporary and long term changes brought on by COVID 19 and the shutdown. You may need to make anywhere from subtle to significant adjustments to your business, in order to get revenue flowing again.

How to Rework Your Business Model

  • There’s a standard process for redesigning services, products, and operations.

  • Spark new ideas by exploring approaches from other industries. I'll share several examples.

If you’ve been racking your brain to come up with viable alternatives, this session will give you a process and some creative examples to spark ideas.
We've identified models and approaches that respond to the current and future customer trends resulting from COVID-19 (beyond virtual, e-commerce, and delivery).

You'll Learn:

  1. The Three I's method for solving problems and coming up with new services

  2. Business model strategies that deliver value and address new customer trends

The pandemic and business shutdown have rewritten a wide range of customer needs and preferences. Even after social distancing eases, certain expectations and new habits will not revert. How will your business adapt to this long-term change? Maybe models like these inspire you.

  • Appeal to the DIY mindset by providing components and coaching.

  • Explore co-ops and peer-to-peer platforms. (like a childcare co-op!)

  • Be a matchmaker, like Match.com, but help your customers make connections.

  • Rent out your unused assets or subcontract internal experts to other types of businesses

  • Turn your tourism destination into an education provider

  • Try on a subscription model. (for restaurants, groceries, coaching or consulting)

Presented by: Jen Reiner, President, Align Ltd

Presenter Bio: Jen is a builder. Prior to starting Align, she was a leader on the founding team of a first-of-its-kind start-up university. There she developed and launched new programs and recruited the college’s very first customers, with little more than a grand vision to show first customers. Over the years, she worked closely with business leaders through workforce initiatives and applied technical centers. She’s experienced the challenge of launching new services in a highly competitive, mature market. Later, she led the Commonwealth of PA’s Office of Transformation & Innovation, where she worked closely with the senior-most executives to gain support for and implement innovative new government initiatives. Colleagues and clients appreciate Jen’s ability to think creatively and strategically while staying focused and persistent on ‘getting it done.’ Jen teaches a graduate course and provides training in entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.
